Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), formerly Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited, is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Mines. Set up in 1972 and headquartered in Nagpur, it carries out geological, geophysical, geochemical, and drilling surveys to map India’s mineral resources for both government and private clients, and has expanded into critical mineral exploration, remote sensing, and GIS-based planning.
